Dr. Bahiyyah Muhammad is a research and advocacy expert in dealing with children of imprisoned parents. She has gathered more than a decade of ethnographic research about the experiences of parental imprisonment from the personal perspective of the children themselves.
She conducts trainings, lectures and keynotes all around the nation drawing on the findings of my research.
Dr. Muhammad is Assistant Professor in Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Howard University, Washington DC. She established the first course at the University titled “Children of Incarcerated Parents”.
