Save the date! The 11th European Forum on the Rights of the Child will take place on 7-8 November 2017 in Brussels. In the context of the forthcoming UN global study on children deprived of liberty, the Forum will focus on the deprivation of liberty of children (children in conflict with the law, immigration detention, children in institutions and children with parents in prison) and on alternatives to detention. COPE is contributing to and participating in the Forum, which was originally launched following the adoption of the Commission Communication Towards an EU strategy on the Rights of the Child in 2006. The Forum is organised and chaired by the Commission and meets annually, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders to exchange information and good practice on the rights of the child.
