From July 8 to July 12, Eurochips member Bryggan will attend the Joint World Conference held by the Social Work and Social Development Communities 2012 in Stockholm.

The main focus of the conference, entitled “Action and Impact,” will be to reinforce the impact of social workers on a regional, national, and international scale. Some 2,000 participants from social workers to educators are expected to participate and discuss their common objectives. Bryggan will present their work in Sweden on behalf of children affected by parental incarceration.

Bryggan has also been invited to attend Almedalen Week, running July 1 to 8, organised by Parliament’s representatives of Sweden’s Gotland region. The origin of Almedalen Week was a series of speeches given by Olof Palme from the back of the truck in the 1960s. The week provides a platform for social issues debates, during which Bryggan will participate as panel members of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
