Can you help us send two children affected by parental imprisonment to a Global Forum on Inclusion in the Swiss mountains? We are pleased to have been welcomed into the Learning for Well-being (L4WB) community (formerly the Universal Education Foundation), following our Quality of Childhood session on children with imprisoned parents at the European Parliament in January and after having participated in a 3-day training workshop in Brussels mid-June. The Learning for Well-being Foundation engages in “co-creative partnerships that foster the well-being of children and those with whom they engage in meaningful relationships, in all environments”.

One of their partnership initiatives is the CATS Global Forum (Children as Actors for Transforming Society), which is co-organised with children. This year’s Global Forum will take place 29 July – 4 August 2017, with the theme of “Reaching for an inclusive world”. COPE has been invited to take part, and has found a small delegation of children through its affiliate Person Shaped Support (PSS) in Liverpool. It is very positive that children affected by parental imprisonment will be able to benefit from this opportunity; to feel the support of other children, to feel included, that their ideas are valued, that they have an active role in shaping their world and to contribute their perspectives on creating change and inclusivity. COPE has put into place a GlobalGiving fundraising campaign in order to sponsor the delegation from PSS to go to the Forum. Show your support by donating now! Every contribution helps!
