In the second half of 2016, Solrosen was involved in a study organised by a Masters student studying “Child Culture Design”, a new Master specialisation focusing on play. Her focus was on children’s perceptions of the visits rooms in prisons. Children at Solrosen took part in the study and created their own models of how they would like the visits room to feel and look. Gothenburg prison and another prison in the area were involved in the project. Solrosen is now working in partnership with the Swedish Correctional Services to create more child-friendly visiting rooms in these two prisons. It is hoped that this project will be completed in 2017 or 2018.
