In Autumn 2013 we began an EU-funded project to compile a series of four newsletters focused on justice for children of prisoners.
The themes of the newsletters were as follows:
- Prisons across Europe: National focuses on protocols relating to children of prisoners
- Prisons visits & families: Impacts, successes & struggles
- Police, judges & sentencing: Arrests, trials & children’s rights
- Looking forward: Impacts, successes & obstacles
To create these editions, our staff reached out to experts in the judicial systems across Europe. These experts included prison governors, judges, NGO practitioners, and academics. The newsletters were created with the financial aid of the European Commission and have provided a platform for continuing forth with future editions. We hope to continue gathering articles such as these in order to further grow our collective base of knowledge and information regarding justice for children of prisoners across Europe.
