Photo and Video Exchange

Soon after the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Relais Enfants Parents Belgium (REP Belgium) launched a photo and video exchange between children and their parents in prison. With the consent of the participating children, REP Belgium printed photos of children and sent them to their imprisoned parent. Moreover, the organisation also organised a video exchange. If volunteers were allowed to take their smartphones with them to visit the parents in prison, they would show video messages of the children to their parents and film the parent’s responses. In total, this initiative enabled approximately 150 children and their imprisoned parent to maintain some kind of social contact during the pandemic.
