The Maltese foundation Mid-Dlam għad-Dawl has launched two programmes that focus on providing support to both prisoners and their families. The first is a residential programme where imprisoned parents will be put into groups of 4-6 to discuss their experiences and parenting. An extensive part of the rehabilitation process will be focusing on therapy for both the imprisoned parent and the child. The other project is a family visiting programme. Mid-Dlam għad-Dawl will be responsible for communicating with Malta’s one prison to organise family sessions and visits in a welcoming setting outside the prison walls.
