Swedish organisation Solrosen has produced a play on the experience of having a parent in prison. Solrosen was contacted by a theatre group in Stockholm, whose leader grew up with a parent in prison. Together, they created a play on parental imprisonment. Several schools have agreed to have the play performed in their schools. After the play, the spectators get to ask questions; this is when the actress tells them that the play is her personal story. So far, the play has been very well received by parents, children, and politicians alike. It is a great awareness-raising tool that Solrosen is hopeful more people will see. The organisation is planning to record it in the future and reach a wider audience.
