In reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic and its relative restrictive measures, including national lockdown and the suspension of prison visits, Bambinisenzasbarre created supportive online spaces for children with a parent in prison and their families. Among them, the “Art Parties”. They consist of biweekly art workshops that take place online. In addition to providing children and their parents in prison with extra time to socialise, these workshops encourage children to communicate differently with their parents and express themselves creatively. The workshops are run by two art therapists and one psychologist. These newly-created virtual spaces are protected and safe for children and their parents, which can enjoy a moment of conviviality as they have not been able to meet in person for months.
